Engine 'popping' problem
« on: 19 October 2007, 09:42:55 »

Hi,

Ever since i did my rocker gaskets i have a problem.

Only happens when the engine is cold , when i rev , on the downside of revs it pops until the engine is warm

Any ideas?

Matt

Any air leaks?  Popping can be excess air into exhaust igniting overly rich cold mix....   :-/

Another thought.  Is it a genuine VX exhaust or an aftermarket?  Seen it where an aftermarket one is slightly overly restrictive causing excess backpressure on the overrun.

Well,

I bought an exhaust from cat back for £40 from a lad who was breaking an omega due to mine being totally rotten.

Not sure if it is genuine or not. Could be that then
