Cambelt markings
« on: 08 December 2007, 23:52:29 »

Hi

Can anyone help with a cambelt problem? I bought a cambelt kit from Vauxhall for a 3.0 '99 elite but the cambelt does not have direction arrows and does not have any timing marks. It does have a barcode and what looks like a part number GM 9 128 500...

Is this the wrong kit, or if not, how will I work out the timimng marks to align against?

Cheers
Chris

I AM HOLDING THE EXACT SAME BELT IN MY HAND AS I TYPE AND MINE DOES HAVE THE MARKS AND DIRECTION ARROWS ON IT. I WOULD TAKE IT BACK AND ASK FOR ONE WITH THE CORRECT MARKS ON IT. :y

Thats correct the Vauxhall belt doesn't come with making, or at least mine didn't, If using the locking kit then it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Cambelt kits seem to no longer come with markings if from VX. As said, it's not a big issue if you set it up with the Kit - mine didn't come with markings either.
