01y, 2.6 cdx auto nightmare
« on: 20 December 2007, 14:54:43 »

eng. man. light came on 3 months ago. car ran perfect with no visible faults. absolutly no trouble. i decided to have the light put out by friendly garage. now it begins !  >:( tec 2 showed previous fault (A) heater for lamda sensor. (2) crank angle censor, old fault. reset, and all lights and faults cleared. hooray, my car perfect again. lets balance out slight streer wobble at 65mph. tyres balanced. CAR NOT START. now there is the car with the spanner thru it, flashing.  Lock car, walk away out of keyfob range, wait 2 mins, open and start car and drive home running perfectly. must get spare key out and try it . park car at house. NEVER TO START AGAIN. Swtch on ignition and car with spanner flashing, both keys the same.
Phone dealer, must have car on site. Transport to main dealer. £££s Dealer phones 2 days later. It MIGHT be the immobiliser ECU ? IF NOT IT might be ? the main ECU . OR THE INDUCTION LOOP on the ign switch???? The cost will be....
£294 + £1042 + £64+ vat + labour + transporting etc. OR THEY COULD DO A WIRING CHECK AT £198 + VAT. My first thoughts are , save monry by buying and shooting myself ( or alternataly shoot the main dealer ). ANYWAY    HELP.......
How can a 77k car which drives PERFECTLY, be turned into a dead dodo by plugging in TEK 2 ????? :D JIM SAYS ..........
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY, especially to the person out there who can make MY christmas a happy one xxxx

I say..

it might be the crank sensor..

Did they reread the codes and tell you what they said?

crank or cam sensor at fault here, where abouts in the Country are you?

I remember the spanner light blinking at me, it was imoblisor related cause my car battery went flat.
