with Vat and fitting? top of my and it's only from the FWD one i nearly had to Cavalier that the switch was close to £200.00.

have you got an invoice with the parts number, if so post up the number and i'll check the price for you.

We don't really get any problems with the FWD switche as i nearly found out. My cav started playing up, wont shift in auto. We had it in the workshop and plugged tech 1 in and came up with inhibtor switch. found a good used one, fitted it still same problem, fitted a new one, still the same.

This went on for a month or so until and workmate said to check the reverse lamp fuse, if it blowen, repalce it. did that and everything worked again.

Turns out the the main live feed to the switch is via the reverse circut, if the fuse blows then the has now power and the box ecu hasn't a clue whats happening.

Any back to your car, the Carlton / Senator did suffer with the odd switch as they tended to get water logged by the spray coming off the n/s/f wheel

Cheers

Hi

the symptoms you describe seem to be that of gear selector switch, dealer price £235+vat. inhibitor switch stops car starting in gear, could you start your car while in drive?? Gear selector switch is Vx part no. 96017511. most members fit second hand.

+ fitting (i expect they've probably suggested 1 1/2 hours?) and you're not far away.
