So does that mean I need a new ECU? I live in the north west of England. Willing to travel

Thanks
Whereabouts in the North West are you? There are a couple of excellent Vauxhall independants in the north west, one of them might be near to you and able to diagnose for you.

Nearest member to you with Tech2 is likely to be Marks_DTM in Nottingham, which is probably a bloody long way :(

If you can find someone local to you who knows how to properly diagnose what the computer is telling them, that may be better option.

You can send the ABS-ECU to BBA Reman and they will test and repair if required .. 5 day turn-a-round and I was well impressed.

Downside to this is... it's a sod to get at and you have no car for a week .. :(

Is the ABS-ECU just part of the ECU? How much am I looking at if I send it to BBA Reman?

Thanks for the help

miggy has numerous ECU's (Electronic Control Units) all over the place ..:(

Give BBA-Reman a ring on

01634 230055

For my rebuild of ABS-ECU it was £120 I think on a 5 day turn around ... I was VERY impressed with the service.

I have no link to them other than a very satisfied customer...

if there's any sort of trip computer, can you get an average speed reading?

Does the odometer (mileometer) still add mileage when you drive??

I've had 2 V6 Omega speedos fail on me, one pre-face lift, one Mini face lift, both failed not because of the sensors or the ABS-ECU , but because a component in the driver circuit for the Speedo itself failed...

solution in that instance is to  get a new speedo (early cars) or get a new instrument cluster (later cars , of which your is one.. I think)

get one from a scrappy , or fleabay first before getting a new replacement to test the theory...

(or of course, repair the original if you can be bothered and have the skills.. )   I couldn't be arsed, so just changed it out for another...
