Tramming all gone.

Had a prob with tramming on the car. checked the wear over the weekend to find that the the there was a lot of inner wear on the front . replaced had full camber set up and all the other ajustments a month ago but did not know that the wear was so bad. Replaces with a set of Contantal and as good as new now no pulling and a lot more of a pleasure to drive now.  

The guy told me that with these big cars the feel can change alot when the tyres get low on grip and in the min 3mm mark.

As far as I was aware tyres getting worn on the inside was "Toeing Out" on the tracking.

It depends on where the tyre was worn, if it was hard over on the edge then it is camber but if it was say the inner 1/4 of the tyre then yes it could be the toe out was wrong. ...He does not describe the wear enough to be sure. The conti tyres he has now i think has a solid centre band in the middle of the tread and this will also help to stop the effect of the car tramlining. Tony at WIM explained that to me.  :y

My new SP sport Max's certainly don't do much to counter tramlining.  >:(

They'll be going on the back as soon as I've been back to Tony for a checkup.

My pirelli 7000's are the same kevin, but cant afford to change yet so will have to put up with em. :(

I was told that tram lining is caused because of either a tyre pattern and also the actual width of the tyre...

Well, after Tony had set it up it was fine on the old tyres (SP2000E). When the shoulder wear caught up with them I couldn't get hold of any and put the Sport Max's on. Now it's back.  >:(

Maybe I'll have an experiment with the pressures. :-/

toe issues tend to affect a reasonable width of tyre. Shoulder wear is always camber...

So you mean just the edge of the tyre gets worn if the Camber needs doing then...... Think I may need a visit to WIM then :o
