Qestion about twin cam Corsa C
« on: 08 October 2007, 21:50:18 »

I know this is not Omega related, need a bit of advice. Was helping a mate service his Corsa C at weekend. The engine is a twin cam 1.2, the spark plugs sit in middle of engine between the cams (did pack on top) They sit in a metal tube/sleeve. How do they come out,  :-? as the ordinary plug spanners we had wouldn't fit

I use a standard plug socket (all be it a small one to fit the small plugs.....which are the same twin electrode ones as used on the Omega).

Cracking little power plant the 1.2 16V....

I may be barking up the wrong tree but I think I recall something similar on an old cavalier. It had kind of extensions on the plugs. I.E pull off the lead then pull off the extension then get to plug.

As I say I may be completely wrong  :-[

It is missing some CCs and some cylinders

I have driven the old half engine Corsa, slow but willing, crap gearbox though gate was horrid!

I was suprised the half engine wasn't a 1.25, 1.3, 1.5 or 1.6 - would have made more sense.

I think you just need a thin-walled socket and a decent extension. Long time since I've worked on, though.

Had a little google about and came up with this.

It's not dreadfully helpful but at least you aren't the only one with the same problem.

Hope it helps
