tune to radio 2 or classic fm for a bit, normally around the news at the hour.  its the onboard comps way of syncing the clock with the pips.....

....  it's SUPPOSED to be there....  it tells you your clock is right!

(not that you care mate ;)  , what with not istening to radio2 , which as every fule knows, is the nu-cool hip and funky station, to entertain the nation...   unlike that radio 1 'dangle berries'. )

I have an inkling at the back of my mind that it may only work  if the RDS is switched on on the stereo.....

but I could be wrong.....  I'll have to go look it up.....

Ahhhh   did so...
Page 30 of the owners manual for TID
page 32 for MID

apparently you can enable/disable the function itself  separately from the radio, but the radio must have RDS enabled for it to work when enabled...

That's making my head hurt!    ;D  ;D

I know that when I was in France a year or 2 back, my clock stayed as I'd re-set it, until it 'saw' the UK on the way back to the ferry. I instantly got UK time whether I wanted it or not.  :-?

It doesn't sync with the pips......RDS has the ability to transmit accurate time info (BBC stations seem to do this once per minute) over the data channel it uses.

Yup, quite correct...    But don't let the truth get in the way of a legpull!!   :D
