Vibration under acceleration
« on: 16 February 2008, 20:17:55 »

Had a worrying experience on my drive back from Germany last night.  Whenever I accelerated medium to hard I had this vibration come from the drivetrain.  I noticed it most when I booted it and it changed down to 2nd.

Imagine my horror when I looked under the car to the diff and found 2 of the 3 bolts holding it on had come off!!

How the heck had this happened!?!?!?  I know my gb is on the way out and will be changed shortly but I cant see exactly how this would have an effect on the bolts holding the diff.  I know they were there before I left for Iraq and I am pretty sure that there are no theives who would be interested in such things....

Any thought from the crowd?

Muchos Aquos!    :D
