2.2 facelift cams !!

are there any difference in the cams in 2.2 facelift ?? would it make any difference if you got them wrong way round ?? like inlet in exhaust and exhaust in inlet ?? sounds daft i know  ;D

Inlet and exhaust cams are the same on the 2.2 from memory

If they are definately the same - then no

Obviously it's desirable for cams / lifters to be matched in their original positions following a rebuild...

have you got the bearing caps in the right places too?

According to EPC, inlet camshaft for Y22Xe and Z22XE is 90543994, exhaust is 90544009. Not sure if there is any actual difference in the cams though....

Mark - did you definately fit the cam sprockets in the correct keyways?

Or are you 180 deg out on valve timing? This would cause it not to run!

Are there any stored codes?

so could be different in pulley fastening then getting really bloody shitti with this car !! >:(

..and it is also the same P/Ns for the X20XEV (2.0L 16V Ecotec).

Nah - the pulley positions are determined by which keyways you fit them in, nothing to do with the camshaft.

thought that myself james so checked the keyway and can only go one way  :(
