A few questions
« on: 14 March 2008, 10:47:44 »

Hi All

I have a 99 s omega TD elite with manual box.

2 questions I require help with. Firstly my self levelling suspension doesn't work properly. It just kept lifting the car up a bit every time I started it. This got to the point where I wa driving a hot rod style omega at one stage, the rear was so high, I couldn't see the bonnet on a shogun behind me  :). Anyway I have disconnected the connections into the shocks which lets it come down. I have noticed though that the self levelling still works as at one stage I lifted the car on to the pavement on one side but it stayed completely level. Anybody know why this is and how much it would cost to repair?

Secondly, how do you check if your wheels are buckled. I have had the MV6 wheels on for about 9 months and they were fine but now, the car wobbles like a bouncy castle when I move off and settles when I get to about 20-30 mph and also pulls to one side. I have tracking done and all wheels balanced but still the same.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Kam

Check the sensor on the OSR trailing arm is OK (sensor on NSR is for headlights).

Prefacelift MV6 wheels are bloody soft, and friggin expensive.  And when I checked a couple of months ago, only 3 left in the world.  If you've hit potholes, they'll be buckled.  Now is probably a good time to consider those 18s you mentioned in your welcome post ;)

It is worth getting a full geometry check done on your Omega - I think you may find tracking and 4 wheel alignments are a bit of a waste of money imho...
