Upgrading interior/ wiring loom
« on: 23 March 2008, 19:22:59 »

I am currently trying to upgrade my interior from gls cloth spec no side airbags/heated seats ect to cdx leather with side airbags heated seats ect and the wiring for these funtions are not already connected to the multiplugs that go to the seats.
Does anyone know if the wiring will be there and just not connected (ie just taped up somewhere) or do i have to change or add to the loom.
Both cars are of the same year and saloons  but one is a 2.5 cdx auto and mine is a 2.0 gls manual.
TIA Lee

edit  also wiring for rear electric windows

If one has side airbags and other doesn't, they are not from same year.

You won't get side airbags working on an SRS ECU from a twin airbag car.

Thanks for the quick reply both the log books put the cars 1 month out of each other so i can only assume that it has been changed before.

Check the last LETTER of VIN, I bet twin airbag car is V and quad airbag car is W - different years ;)

Nope both are w  and they are only about 3500 cars apart.
my 2.0lt only has one airbag not twin  and the 2.5 has all of the wiring to the seats so im guessing that the seats are original. they were actually registard 4days apart.

Knowing how Vauxhall like to change spec on cars as and when they feel like it...any car built from about April could have the next model years bits on it, yet still be the previous model year.. Add into the mix that wiring looms might come from 3 suppliers and all might be the "same" part number, yet be very different..

On Astras, tyres from 3 manufacturers all have the same (internal) part number - yet they used to have seperate ones (essential for the auto fitting machines i used to design).  Sorry i digress..spent far too long at Ellesmere Port...
