Where do these go?
« on: 11 April 2008, 11:33:55 »

Been to vx today and bought all gaskets/seals and O rings to do cam cover gaskets. With 5l of oil and a filter it came to £149. There are 3 very little O rings. Part No.:90511451. Where do these go? There are also 2 other o rings on their own which are slightly bigger than these 3 but with no code on them. Where do these go also?  :-/ :-/

Firstly you need 5.75 litres for an oil change..

2 orings are probably off the breather to throttle body connection.

You should have 16(?) orings for the camcover bolt holes.

Not sure about the 3 off hand..  someone will know though.

Cos they think every one drives a 4 pot car. For the same reason, my local dealers don't stock anti-freeze in the 5 litre bottles.

damn!!  :o :o get a trade card / ABS card!

Should have cost no more than £70. Cam cover gaskets, plus black sealant should be around £60 ish? £20 for oil and filter....

4 pot's take 4.75L of oil V6 needs another 1L

Just a thought, but if the guy has given you the oil amount for a 4 pot then perhaps he has also given you the relevant gaskets for the wrong engine too??
