Central Locking
« on: 09 June 2008, 20:39:35 »

Having a problem with the central locking (1996 2.016v 2 button remote kind)

when I press the lock buttone once the car deadlocks and wont ope with the unlock button, I have to take the battery out the keyfob and put it back in again and the locks pop up themselves, I have swapped the central locking unit in the drivers footwell from another car and it works perfectly with the other cars remote. so im assuming the central locking unit in question has had it.  Trying to find a matching fob and central locking unit on ebay is proving hard find, can anyone here help?

thanks

Steve

I know it must be a stupid question, but have you replaced the battery in the fob?

Yup, the fob lights up fine when buttons pressed, and the car locks with the button on the fob, but just wont open. I have just tried the faulty unit in my other car and it behaves the same, so unit is deffinately a duffer.
