Intermittent Wiper Control
« on: 10 June 2008, 20:59:56 »

I've tried to use the search to find the answer .. but it doesn't want to play ... :(

Some time back there was a thread discusing replacing the "fixed" intermittent wiper control of the later face-lifts with the "variable" intermittent of the mini-facelifts ....

If memory serves it involved nothing more than changing the wiper stalk for one with the wheel, and changing a relay ....

Now, Markey Mark is breaking one with the stalk with a wheel, so I assume it also has the correct relay, but we don't know where that lives ....

Could someone who "knows" please advise where this relay lives, and its part number if possible, and if any other "bits" are needed to do the conversion ??

TIA   :)

I did this to my 03 cdx,  what you are trying to achieve is to add a 5K variable resistor in series with the line to the relay.

On mine there was no need to change the relay, but the connectors on the free wiring part of the stalk are not the same as the earlier cars.

The early stalk had a 5 pin connector with lines to the MID for the set and reset of the timer etc., as well as the variable resistor.

The later stalk has only 3 pins for the set, reset lines. The variable resistor has to be wired in series with pin 9 on the main connector if I remember correctly.

I have saved pictures of the connectors and wiring diagrams, if you let me have your email address I can send them.

I may have rambled a bit here, but it worked well on mine without changing the relay.
