Mayo gunge oil filler neck. 3.2v6

Not totally sure if i have a problem or not.Hear a lot about mayo gunge being related to gasket failure.

Lol....if I had a pound.

Nothing to worry about, its condensation in the crank case which is perfectly NORMAL.

It just gets trapped up the long oil filler neck on the V6 and shows its self easier than on other engines where is gets displaced by the oil wash from the spinning cams.

Its worse with short runs to as the engine never gets truely hot

The mayo on short trips is unavoidable and no cause for concern.

But it does emphasise the need to clean the breathers regularly - e.g. once a year - or they will get blocked and the pressure will breach the cam covers seal.

In my experience Vx-own 10W40 semi synth was best at keeping the mayo to a minimum, and definitely better than the fully synth Mobil-1. I did not Vx full-synth though.

Fully synth is equally as good and seems to have better detergents in it to.

Castrol seems to be about the worst, beginning to think thats little more than cooking oil really. ;D

Sorry chaps, it wen tlive before i had finished. I should say its not evident on long runs , but its quite obvious when i do a lot of short trips,.
