Another question
« on: 01 July 2008, 18:08:29 »

When I got my grubby mitts on my mig it had a mixer LPG system ( James, Tunnie or TB -- you might recall). Anyway -- the air pipe ( probably got a name -- but lord knows what!) running from behind the front grille under the headlight up to the air box had been removed. Was there (is there) a reason for this --- does LPG run better without this pipe.

Am upgrading to sequential -- should this pipe go back on ???

If anyone who worked on Tunnies old project (GNU) can recall .... was any of the firmware updated ( cruise, box, etc ) ?  Cheers :y

Depends on the installation - but LPG mixers don't like the ram air effect. caused on some airboxes/intake systems.  Very prevalent on Range Rovers etc, where the recommendation is to removed the ducting (and even the original air box) due to this.

If going sequential, then it should be mapped and closed loop controlled by the Lambda, so won't affect it (as will the fact that the gas goes straight into the manifold)

I would put it back on. It will ensure the engine breathes cool air from in front of the radiators.

that was never touched by me.

Work we did was replace lpg pipes with better ones, adjust the system, so it used the HBV rather than by-pass it to go though the evaporator.

Cheers Tunnie --- as luck would have it I have one I can put back on :y  Can you recall if any of the firmware was updated?  If not I think I will be visiting one of our tech2 gurus for the full works  :)
