have noticed the flexible joint in front exhaust just before cat is completly broken so it is blowing does this effect performance much ?
I have had a quick look under bonnet and it looks like a big job to remove and obviousely expensive to replace.Now I have talked to a local exhaust company who showed me a universal flex joint but you have to cut the pipes and weld in to place so my question is there something I can wrap around the joint which would still be flexible but stop it blowing?
if not what are the chances of the exhaust coming off without breaking any thing?

Easy to fix

Measure the pipe size and buy the correct one of these:

Cut the old one out with a hack saw and clamp the new one in.

thanks for reply went on to find one for mine thought I had cracked it but when I went out to car realised no space to cut old joint out hope fully you will see what I mean if I manage to insert pictures
now all that has happened is the outer braid had come away the inner is still intact and moves when I push it so thats why I havent noticed a marked difference in noise but it must leak out slightly under driving conditions so what I am thinking is sealing the joint between flex and pipe with (now this is if I can get it) high temp silicon or seal with normal exhaust paste and put a thin jubilee clip over to clamp it what do you think

Wasting your time and money m8, I know from experience, will last a maximum of a week and you will be back under the car.
