2.5 bmw engine auto stalls engine managment light flickers fault code 64 has been diagnosed remedy please cheers TF

64      Fuel Quantity Control Out of Range

no idea myself, but there are a few tractor experts on here who may know better :)

Sounds like a pump issue to me...either too much or too little.  Too little, then i'd guess lift pump.  Too much?  Worn injection pump, i guess.

Think there's a Maintenance guide on 2.5TD lift pump sh1te removal...

Main injection pump.

Seeing as its not worth replacing that, I'd start by removing fuel filter, emptying it, filling to top with Diesel Magic, replacing, and starting (it will run like bag of nails for few seconds).

See if that sorts it (even if only temporarily).
