Does it happen often or rarely?

Likely causes are a dying coil pack or oil in the plug wells due to failing cam covers.

Best thing to do is remove the coil pack and check for oil and examine the casing of the unit fo cracks and corrosion around the metal cores

had this code in myn when i got it. No signs of any problems at all. The boy cleared the code and no sign of it since. Must have been an old code. I found easiest way to get the coil packs out was to find i bolt the same size as the thread in the brass bolt holes, insert and pull on the bolts rather than leavering out with a screw driver and buggering the seal. I presume thats the idea anyway, unusual for vx to be that helpfull.
