Alarm and horn sounder Going off
« on: 07 September 2008, 00:07:44 »

I have just been interupted from Quadraphinia twice by my car's alarm. I only ever lock it with one blip from the keyfob so I assumed I was not arming the alarm. But it's gone off twice in 30 mins. I guess the alalrm battery is low? How do I disable it?. Thanks. Mark

Try locking the car with the key in the door lock, rather than with the blipper.

(And double check your windows and sunroof are closed, obvious tough that seems).

favourites for false alarms are bonnet switch, bend the bracket up a bit so makes more contact and is compressed a bit more, if no good either tape it down or disconnect altogether to eliminate it as it could also be the power sounder under the scuttle drivers side. It has a built in battery that can be low or leaking which can set it off, sometimes even while driving. Hth.
