« on: 14 September 2008, 12:50:38 »

i own a '97 "Omega B" 2.0 CD AUTOMATIC Transmission. (X20XEV Engine with cable throttle)

and want to fix cc, i bought

-Cruise Control Unit (to pull the throttle cable)
- Indicator Stalk (with CC Buttons)

Do i have something missing here ?
Because somehow i am planning to  installe in a garage. Most of the services here does not know about this subject. Also can you give me detailed information please ? (if some parts are missing and how to install them)

i have several question marks ;

Here 9 cables at the socket

that cruise multiplug has been well and truly butchered by someone.  I wonder why.  The cruise multiplug supplies two sets of information to the cruise unit.  first it supplies basic stuff like power and feeds from the cruise stalk.  Second it supplies a feed from the ABS ECU which tells the cruise unit your speed.

your first job is to trace the loom to find all the wires to the multiplug and refit - I wonder if they were fiddled with with your LPG install???

you need a 4 pin brake switch but you do not need a clutch switch because the Autobox provides a feed to the cruise multiplug to bypass the wiring for the clutch switch

Yess, i found 4 missing cable , they were behind of lpg ecu..(Tomorrow i will visit the service to learn which GENIUS fiddled)
Any way , i will refit them to socket and will buy 4 pin brake switch... BUT which and where located these cables to fit that brake switch ?

P.s:i know that i am asking too much ,because i dont want to go the butchers  ;D

Right!  you are not asking too much!

the cables for the 4 pin switch are already fitted to a 4 pin multi plug on the existing brake switch.  what you need to do is (follow the guide)  unplug and remove the old switch, fit the new 4 pin switch and put the multiplug on it - job done with the pedals.  then fit the cruise stalk - making sure the little cruise multiplug is connected.  final job is the multiplug - make sure you get cables refitted in the correct place.  You may find it difficult unless someone with TIS can give you the exact cable colours for each pin on the plug (they have letters by them to identify them)

good luck

i bought 4 pin switch , about £15.i removed the green part and pressed the switch.Later remember this ; :-[ :-[ :-[

There is a green plastic keeper fitted from the factory to prevent the depression of the switch prior to fitment.   Once removed there is a sort of ratchet mechanism in the switch so that, on first depression, it assumes a 'working' position.   If you play with it before fitting and do this early, it is an absolute bu**er to locate as the moving plastic bit (as in the two pin switch) moves, preventing the depression of the locking tangs.   Ask me how I know....
