smoke problem

have smoke coming oot o me engine,no warning lights coming on,think it is burning oil smell could it be oil from a previous leek lying about engine or something else,any advice would be bra, :(

have had rocker gaskets replaced in / oot the garage for a few days now garage think it is oil heatin up and smokin when engine heats up

Would be betting on camcover gaskets or old oil thats needing burnt off.  Depending on whether the proper VX gaskets wre used (properly) when they were replaced by your garage, could be that pattern ones have let go and/or the garage made a James Hunt of fitting them....

Were the breathers cleaned out at the same time and, if not, they probably need done too.....

I'm only a few miles south of you if you want to meet up and I could have a keek.....  ;)

edit - I'm in Dondeh on Saturday, as it happens, if thats any use??

what time and where start work at 1pm,breathers not cleaned as far as i no,dont think vx gaskets were used,garage went threw it with a fine tooth comb he think excess oil but me no a mechanic so i dont no. :y

Have an appointment at noon that I need to keep clean for so cant do anything in the morning.  Might manage to have a look late afternoon, if there was any access to your work carpark?  Drop me a PM and we can sort something out, either over the weekend or next week....   :y
