Knock Sensor Location - 1999 2.0 16v (X20XEV)
« on: 10 October 2008, 14:45:52 »

Hi, can someone tell me where I can locate the knock sensor?

Been flagging a code (0325).  EML comes on every time I hit 2000rpm then disappears when I get to about 3500rpm.  After about 15 mins of driving the EML disappears altogether until started from cold again.

Any clues?  If not location of the sensor would be great.

Oil is up to the max line so no problem there.

Check that the wiring hasn't been caught - IIRC, the knock sensor is on the OS of the car, on the engine block. And the connector comes up through a bracket off the inlet manifold.

TBH, you may find access easier with the inlet manifold out...

Thanks James, top banana!   :y

I've been poking about that area for the last hour with the alternator off etc, I did have a feeling it was in that area but could not find it and was trying to avoid taking the inlet manifold off.  C'est la vie!
