Camshaft sensor problem, however a 2.0 should still start (with a struggle) as long as the crankshaft sensor is OK  :-/

What happened when your cam belt broke? :o :o :o

Did it damage any crucial components? :-? :-?

Could be an answer to your current problem ;)

If the cambelt broke, its very likely you have an engine full of bent valves!

The code is related to camsensor giving incorrect (or no) signal, but that fault alone will not cause it not to start (may turn over 3 or 4 times).

Enough said here really. I need add no more than you should probably consider taking the head off to check for damage. The 0340 error message is not your main concern right now.

As The Boy says, 99.99% chance of a head with three or four bent valves!

The reason for this is that the valves are at an angle to the crown of the piston, so when the belt lets go, it has no choice but to bend.

If the camshaft sensor is registering a problem, it's probably because the bent valves are stopping it from turning as it should.

It would be worth giving one of the breakers on here a pm in order to see if they have a complete head they could send you, all you'd need then is the head studs and a cam cover kit - probably work out much easier than taking the head off, and finding the bent valves, buying new ones, lapping etc.   :y

And hope and pray that the pistons/bores aren't damaged .. if they are a replacement engine will be needed .. :(
