Tips for 2.2 cam cover gasket
« on: 23 October 2008, 10:03:53 »

Ordered all the bits, including black sealant, doing this on Saturday. Any hints or tips?

Never done it before, guess the Haynes book of 'dangle berries' should be ok for this? Just take the coil pack out rather than the leads.

Looking at it, i can see the cable tray in front of the cambelt needs to pop off, leccy loom connector on the back of the coil pack, coil pack it self out, all the bolts on the cam cover, think i will take the throttle body off too, give that a clean....

Does the cambelt cover have to come off? what about the leccy loom stuff on the drivers side does that stay where it is?

Is there a specific order to put the bolts back in to squash the gasket?

Does the sealant only go at the back?  :-/

Think you just have to unclip the camsensor as the wire runs over the LH of the camcover.

Good point, forgot about that little wire.
