I hear see what your saying but when i put it on and tightened it up you could feel play in it.Just by putting my finger in it you can feel the hole is bigger on the new one?[/quote]

Bugger ....
Mine fitted snugly, and is a genuine Vx job, as I couldn't source one from anywhere else locally. 'Stealers' robbed me of just over 60 quid, but it reassembled perfectly. Still perfect, one MoT later!

Te old idle arm is a snug fit on the shaft but the new one has got play in it.I carnt get my little finger all the way in the old one but i can on the new one.Some thing is not right?Paid £30 for it.

manny.  You are obviously not happy with the fit.  if there is play in it, it will be a MOT fail and could simply be unsafe.  may be worth posting the make to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues.

If as you say that the new one is half a mil out at the same place compared to the old one then it cannot be right.  Despite the urge to get the job done, I'd down tools until the correct part can be found

Just cannot understand why new part has so much play in it.?

Read the how to on this site - it explains how to seperate the ball joint.  :y
