Engine end of top rad hose.  Easy to change on 2.2 :)

Thanks theboy
Do you think that a faulty thermostat could cause the rad to cold on one side?? or do you think the rad has a blockage??

passenger side, where the main rad hose goes into the engine.

Cold spots on rad are normally an issue with rad itself, unless the heat is purely conducted from elsewhere  :-/

If stat is stuck closed, engine will overheat quickly.

there is one rad.

The other you see is for the aircon. Aircon rad is furthest forward.

Does anybody think the temp sender unit in the rad could have failed thus not sending info to the temp gauge on dash and not telling the rad coolng fan to kick in??

Don't think it works that way, fella.

The gauge in the dash gets its info from a temp sender on the back end of the engine; the gauge doesn't tell anything what to do (except you!).

The thermoswitch in the radiator will directly cause the rad fan to cut in and out.

AFAIK.  :)

If you go for a thrashing, then let it idle for a few mins, does it get hot enough for fans to cut in?  If so, replace the stuck open stat.
