Has it felt like its only just about opened before this??? If so then just undo the clip holding the cable to the slam panel a little, move the cable slightly (away from where the far end of the release cable attaches to the bonnet catch) then tighten the clip again and it should release better...

If not check for something left in the bonnet space thats causing problems with the bonnet closing...have you fiddled about with anything in the engine bay area?

cables probably just stretched chris... only problem is that if you just keep adjusting it, it could snap and it's a pig getting the bonnet up with the grill still in place!

Get someone to pull the handle, while you push down on the front of the bonnet

Ooops just read the complete post  ::)

Adjust the outer cable at the bonnet catch

put some grease on the sprung catch bit on bonnet, if its still tight it might be the catch wants winding out half a turn :y

   Hi Mick,
I had the exact same problem, just do as MutantCav suggests and should be ok. Only adjust a little at a time and try it until it works properly :).

as Elite Pete says, get a mate to push down on the front of it, while you pull the release, that should get it free, then adjust the cable
