Facelift Omega???
« on: 30 November 2008, 13:35:30 »

I have a X plate 2000 CDX facelift with the 2.6. I have just found a W plate 2.5 elite which i want to use as a donor car for mine (ripping the interior out etc) just interested to know which parts are interchangable because the "donor" car is the new shape but seems to have the old engine. I'm dying for the leather seats and bose speakers etc! Also wondering if anything from under the bonnet would fit mine like the radiator for example?

Any advice on this would be a great help!

so long as they are both facelift cars then pretty much everything will swap over.....

Be prepared to remove wiring looms as well, and that has to be done carefully....

believe it or not even the engine would go in yours

No it isn't. The engine is standard for the plod unless you've been playing yourself.

If putting a 2.5 engine into a 2.6 I would be inclined to swap all the DBW stuff onto the 2.5 rather than mess about adding throttle cables.

I don't want the engine mines better :-) but my friend has blow his hg for the second time on his T plate 2.5 so he can have the engine. I just want the toys  ;D hehe.

Am i right to think that the elite has heated rear seats and the bling at the rear?

I'm happy with my 2.6 it has enough grunt for me! I'm only 23 my insurance is expensive enough already lol  :D

The elite is older with much more mileage plus for insurance purposes i need to stay "CDX"

Main differences

Self levelling rear suspension
Heated rear seats
Memory front seats
rear view mirror
Sat nav radio

I would consider swapping over one system at a time
