possibly selector switch problem.  do all lights come on at same time. you can remove it and give it a damn good clean.  if this is not the problem perhaps try topping up box with atf first. hth

no they dont, but if you push up a little from 3rd drive will light up and drive. it a real pain vauxhall have said i could be the gearbox or engine ecu, they want £1,500 to change the ecu's.

Have you had the gearbox ecu read for fault codes - may be a start.  staelers always seem to speculate worst case scenarios.  If you can get the codes read might give you a start.  my knowledge of these is very limited.  I would still be tempted to check the atf level.  for the sake of a fiver and 1/2 hour it may do wonders.  hth

Even with my limited knowledge I would say selector switch may need alighnment, there is also an explanation on this and how to do it.  One of the clever chaps will be along soon to enlighten you.

yup, your switch needs alignment, if it still plays about then give the switch a good clean out, also check that the nylon hole that goes on the g/box shaft aint cracked ;)

Almost certainly the gearbox selector switch - quite common on Omega's. If a good clean up doesn't work, check out the Parts For Sale section of the forum as quite a few guys on here break Omega's and have a good selection of spares. :y

before changing switch, adjust it first, sounds like yours is not quite right
