auto box problem!

hi guy ive alright ask you something about this topic b4 but it went away but it back and i diffrent this time the problem now is when i switch on the engine all the lights on the gear shifter lights up (when in park) move the lever to drive position the 1st gear lights up, then all the gear light up and go out after a few seconds and just drive lights up. When i put it in 3rd no lights appears. when put it in 1st gear all lights come on and flicker, reverse does not light when in gear. also sometime a symbol on the dash come on the one with a spanner. >:( hope u can maybe help me cheers.
could u also tell me where the ecu is for the gearbox? thanks

as I understand the problem, its just the lights on the selector? does the car drive ok? does it change through all the gears?

just a friendly hint... you should proof read your post before submitting it. I can't understand  half of your post!

it sounds like gear selector switch, quite a common fault.....
