Sounds a bit like an air leak somewhere after having the assorted bits and bobs out for cleaning.

Carefull use of short squirts of carb cleaner at the joints you have disturbed can show where the problem is as the revs will change due to the use of the cleaner....

Either you have a bad airleak or your IACV is playing up. After you cleaned it out with carb cleaner did you then put a few drops of 3 in 1 oil in it??

thanks to both of you for your helpful advice ,did not find any air leaks around the throttle body or breathers nor from the air filterorpipes.  diceded to remove icv to try 3in1 oil, gave the valve a quick blast of carb cleaner and then flushed with neat alchol, when flushing i noticed the alchol pooring from the round coin like seal at the end of the valve, i wrapped some aluminum tape strips around the leaking seal, put a drop of 3in1 inside the two holes assembled it all and it run like a dream once again.    many thanks.
