What part do i need
« on: 05 February 2009, 17:20:35 »

Hi all
2.5 V6
Got a sound like a blowing exhaust but it is not the actual exhaust
If you stand at the front of the car there is a pipe on the left hand side with a rubber joint 3" to 4" long (looks like a bit of hose pipe) It is underneath another wider pipe
The joint in question is connected to a pipe that runs from left to right across the front of engine then up into a cylinder type thing and over on the right
Anyone know exactly what the rubber part is called so i can order one from VX
Think its something to do with emmision recycling ???????
Thanks all

If its the bit i'm thinking of its part of the secondary air injection and the pipe could have burst because of blocked cats. Is it attached to an alloy pipe which runs across the front of the engine?

Or it could have just deteriorated with age. This happened on my old 2.5 CDX. Sounded like exhaust blowing , turned out to be a split in that pipe. Replacement was only a few quid from the local vauxhall dealer.
