have you looked for play in steering & suspension parts first to rule out wear & tear

tire pressures, wishbone bushes, track rod ends, stearing idler, the arm on the box itself what ever thats called, busted springs front and back, shocks front and back/front turret mounts, stearing knuckle shock to wishbone, rear donut bushes and anything else ive missed.

Then look at steering box. They do wear but only in the straight ahead position in my experience. So if you take out the slack at 12o'clock, itll be too tight in all other positions. Thats my take on it anyway.

I did tickle mine a fraction, but after driving another members mv6 i am now fairly certain my wandering bendy bus feel is down to tires. Soft sidewalls. I pumped them up from 32psi to 35 and its 70% better. But i think to get rid of the wandering altogether they need to be about 60psi ! The ride is already  a bit harsh.

Think ill try his Dunlops next time round.
