cruise control operated from buttons on the end of the indicator stalk.

Whinning noise, more information needed please.

What engine?

When does the noise occur? Idle? at speed?

If you have a 2.0 and its on start up its most likey secondary air injection

The noise come when accelerating. It increases with acceleration. sound like a loose or free running bearing.

On the cruise just want to know how to use it.

Cruise - 3 buttons:

0 - Disengage (as does using the brake or the clutch)
I - Turns on cruise, and locks to current speed, or increases speed buy around 2kph if cruise already on
R - Resumes previously set speed if cruise has been disengaged. If cruise engaged, reduces speed by approx 2kph
