Auto Gearbox
« on: 10 March 2009, 11:59:41 »

After a good atf flush and a correct filling of new dex III the gearbox ran like a dream. For a while.

It has started to play up again. >:(

Goes into first, then second. It hangs in second then has a dizzy fit and goes into limp mode. If the revs are high it is like a kick in the teeth when it goes.

Picked up the caravan and the gearbox said NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Okay I admit it fellow oofers, I need a new box.  :'( :'(

To the point.
Which gearbox should I go for another AR25 (presently fitted) or hunt out an AR35 ?
What should I expect to pay for either box.................££££

If any local Breakers have one which they are sure is servicable Get in touch

I have never fitted an auto box. Does anybody near me want to teach me and let me work alongside them, a steep learning curve  ;D ;D

All advice and leads welcome chaps and chappesses  :y :y :y

Would there be a chance it has the same problem as Marbles  ::) --> http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1236687899

Thanks Sean ;)

It would be interesting to know if adjusting the brake band servo would help

Its a main sump off job again, filter off and servo cover off (not to hard).

Then there is a procedure to tighten the adjuster to 5Nm and then wind out so many turnsbefore locking it off again.

Arggh, the drives only just recovered from the last attempt.  ;D ;D

I will read up on it and see if this has had any effect on the problem.

In the mean time......any more ideas welcome  :y :y
