Fed up now Non starter relay which one???
« on: 16 March 2009, 13:48:06 »

Right i am coming to the end of my tether now with my 2.5V6
Supposed to be going away for a few days next week just to relax a bit after working solid for the past 8 months and what happens
A new cat fitted £140
2 x new tyres £160
Its had new plugs and leads, air and fuel filters fresh oil but it sometimes just wont fire.

Friday go to work at 7.30 leave car till around 4.00 wont start
Saturday starts 1st time around 8ish go several errands stopping and starting 6 or 7 times leaving it for 10 mins to an hour get home at 2ish come out at 6.00 wont start
Sunday starts 1st time no probs all day
Today 8.45 wont start again

When it wont start i spray WD40 everywhere under bonnet lave 5 mins and off it goes so its a wierd one
have spoke to an auto electrician today and told him the sunroof will open on its own, the radio will change over to CD the alarm sometimes goes off doors lock by themselves now and then he said there are 2 x relays one inside and one under bonnet that get mold inside and you clean it out silicone it back up and byu
anyone know what relay this could be
anyone any ideas why it sometimes wont start
it can be warm or cold outside sometmes it will others not whats going on

You need to do a paperclip test and post up the codes :y Most likely crank sensor.

Absolutely, the only thing WD40 will do under such conditions is empty your wallet!

So, do the paper clip test, tell us the year and engine and post the fault codes up (from the paper clip test).

Just done the PC test and with engine NOT running it flashed once then twice THREE times then three times then once THREE times then kept cycling through them numbers
so i take it thats a code 12 and code 31
with the engine running it just flashed once then twice repeatedly
is that again a code 12

Which Auto spark have you been to? D & J Autos are very good, it doesn't look very pretty from the outside, but they're very good, won't empty your wallet either. Opposite-ish Clearsound radio just off Rochdale Rd, near Macsons.
