I drained the gearbox fluid form the motorbike at 16K and that was absolutely rancid. I can't wait to sample the delights of 10yr old 130K fluid. If I sniff it will it send me :D??

Believe me, get it on anything and you will be able to sniff it forever more on whatever it touches!! Burnt nasty foul smelling stuff...definitely worse than stale cat pee and thats pretty bad stuff!!

Check the diff output bearings too. Just grab the drive shaft next to the diff and push up and down.

Quick question....

When topping up the diff oil should you have the engine running throughout as you would when topping up the gearbox??

Right, all done, fairly easy but really need to get myself a proper jack. The one that comes with the car is no good for doing maintaince.

Oh, and the squeaky noise is still there! >:(

I'm sure its something to do with the drive system or brakes as you can hear it as soon as you pull away and it's on/off as the wheels turn but regular.

Keep us all updated on your progress please, as this seems to be a common case on most omega's. :)
I have asked garage to check oil level and oil condition tomorrow, so I hope things turns out positively for me..:)
And YES, the default vauxhall/opel jack supplied with the car is embarrasing........
