A load of cat litter/oil soaking mats to collect the remnants of the ATF in the pipes. I thought I'd got most of it, but still ended up with a slick on my drive! :-?
It's all quite straight forward.  :y

I just put an oil changing tray underneath, there are three torx headed bolts that hold it on and two jubilee clips iirc so nothing to hard really Cam :y

Gordon Bennett.  What an utter tw@ of a job.  >:(

Started off well enough, until it came time to remove the 3 bolts securing the pump to the engine...seems mine is slightly different to most 3L v6s, the two long bolts are installed from behind the pump - the pumps holes are threaded to take them.  Managed to get the bottom one out without too much trouble...long extension to where the oil filter is and a ratchet just fits.

The top bolt however, I couldn't even get a finger to it never mind a socket...not until I had removed the pas pipe, dipstick tube, bracket holding dipstick tube (which was secured by a bolt & nut - which you could just get a finger to) and only then could I fit a torx socket on a u/v joint to it... >:(

Then of course the realisation that the new pump won't fit because the holes are different sizes... >:(

Still, the only thing wrong with the old one was a sheared bolt.  So once out, I could remove the sheared bolt...then refit it with all the palava in reverse... started 1800, finished 2300.  Ars*. >:(

Took the opportunity, whilst it was all in bits, to fit the knife-edged TBs I've had lying around for ages and replaced the fuel filter too.

Seems to be running lovely now though, so maybe all the grazed knuckles, wrists, forarms and swearing was worth it... :-X
