thanks lizzie, im getting the idea that i need to watch them do it..but im spotted for blonde from 100 yards.I can live with it if it is only the sensor ...not the pads...but i am increasingly tempted to go somewhere and check for sure that those pads are done...cos my baby goes in this car, and im looking for max safety.
I am also just about to get an oil change....i guess k***f*t   arent so recommended...actually i have a long long long life story about that...lolol (also like i said my invoice had the wrong reggie on it!)
thanks

The fact you are blonde Shell has nothing to do with you getting value for the money you have spent with this awful outfit! ::) ::) ::)

Doing the job properly is not your problem but Kwik Fitup's as you paid good money for them to fit new discs and pads, with the car left in fully working condition, without warning lights on!  You should demand that they complete the work and ensure the sensors are fitted / connected!  >:(

If they cannot do that, or give you a load of bull as to why they cannot and therefore fulfill their contract with you, take your car elsewhere, and if you paid by credit card speak to the credit card company about a refund of your monies!

I must also say that no matter what, taking note of your, and what would be my need for perfect safety, you should take the car to a Vx dealer to check out the work done by KF. 8-) 8-)

Knowing what I know about past work they did on my cars in doing just their "specialist" tyre and exhaust business, I just would not trust them to replace even a bolt!! :-X :-X :-X

hi alexandjen
,my mot came back with something like "excess play in steeering idle"but i didnt feel it in the streering...so i took to Kf and they passed it.(Previous garage had quoted more than 300.)
Next year Kf Diagnosed this as "offside drag link end ball joint has excess play"...261 quid with "tra"(whatever that might be!)
the receipt sais " drag arm omega" price 240 pounds...and 26.38 for alignment..
also the guy said i should be gratefull because he let slide that my headlight on driver side was too low and wouldnt adjust....

That says alot about their proffesional attitude towards MOT testing :-X

Do you not know anyone - friend or relative - who can recommend a good garage?
I've no idea about how good this scheme is ........ http://www.goodgaragescheme.co.uk/index.html  :-/ :-/  :y but I'm sure that there will be someone local-ish to you who would be prepared to give you a helping hand.

That's the right attitude Shell and all the very best! :y :y

We have all fell foul of this outfit at some time or another, with us learning by our mistakes.  However just a few years ago I thought I would give them another chance; until they tried to charge me double for brake replacement on my old Elite when I was commercially too busy to do it myself! >:( >:(  A brake specialist did it for half the KF price, and did it properly.

There are many comments about KF on the web, and this is a classic, backing up my experience (and far worse!) with my company cars! >:(

I had an MOT advisory for my front brake discs and pads. VX quoted me £265 for the job. I bought the brake discs, pads and wear sensors from vx for £100.20 and had my local garage fit them for £60. Took just an hour. So saved myself £100 and had the job done as required thanks to this forum.
Brake wear sensors must be fitted every time you replace pads.

Don't ever let Kwik Fit touch your car - they will only cock something up and overcharge (rob!) you.

Set of front discs and pads from Vx on Trade Club around £70 + VAT.
Fitting time approx 1 to 1½ hours.  Sensors are less than a tenner each!!

Sounds like you got HID (Xenon) lights - can you see ok with them?  If so wouldn't worry too much.  Best way to replace is get a headlight unit from a breaker here on OOF.

Good luck ;)
