Changing bonnet struts
« on: 20 April 2009, 04:52:13 »

My bonnet struts gave up on Friday and I bought a new pair yesterday. It was interesting to note that GM does not supply new bolts!

Question is, do you need to remove the padding to the underside of the bonnet in oder to change the strut? Just wondering whether at the bonnet end it is a snap fixing?

many thanks again.

I'm pretty sure they are sprung snap fittings.

Yeah the strut is held on by the clip then pops off...the bit that its popped onto screws out if you ever need to do that...the other end held on by the 2 screws...

As Chris says above and no you don't need to remove the padding on the underside of the bonnet  :y
