Brake light live wire colour?
« on: 04 May 2009, 17:24:42 »

Hi all, Can anyone tell me what colour the Live feed wire to the rear brake lights is please? I have just successfully fitted rear parking sensors & now want to fit them on the front which means taking the power from the brake light. Kind Regards, Phil :y

I'm sure somebody will be along with the correct colour shortly, but you can easily connect a test lamp between ground and check each terminal on the brake light switch in turn (with the ignition in position II).

When the lamp lights, you've found live.

You mean what colour wire at the actual brake lights? Black/yellow at the lamps!
You should be able to find a supply (black/yellow) where the trailer brake light check 'relay' lives .... above the driver's feet on a preface lift or behind the glove box face lift.

Hi Andy B,
The Control box for the sensors is in the Boot behind the spare wheel, so need a live brake supply nearby? Is the wiring colour you describe the same throughout the car lighting circuit? Kind regards, Phil. :y
