Puddle in passenger footwell!

Hi after a morning of heavy rain and my motor stood on the flat drive, I've lot of water in the footwell. No obvious signs of entry, door and windows closed etc and drain under windscreenis clear. Any ideas? Ta.

I suggest you check that the drain below the pollen filter is not blocked. If blocked, it can cause water to enter the vehicle in the passenger floor area.

A build up of leaves, for example, can block this drain.

more than likely the drain in the scuttle is blocked have a look in the maiatance section for the how to clean them properley

Thanks folks all sorted. Smelt like a sewer and there was loads of debris in there but all nice and clean and draning now. Jus got to dry the floor now!

Depending how much water got in ... that could be a problem :( ...

 don't just dry the mats, the soundproofing under the carpets seems to have the ability to hold copious amounts of water, and if not dried properly it wll start to stink !!

Folks have used de-humidifiers or cut the soundproofing out to hang on a line .. whatever method you choose .. ensure you get that stuff dry !!!

A wet'n dry vaccuum can suck a lot of water out.
When I drove into a flood & had 6" of water in the Traktor I got gallons out that way then left it with all windows open on hot days. Never had to remove carpets, just sprayed with carpet freshner & slight smell soon went. It's been 2 years now since the drowning & hydrolock -still running perfectly! :)

It did need a wet vac to clear the water. Have had it inside the garage to dry out, still a small way to go but it is drying. Had the trim off and released the carpet to get underneath.
