Drivers Seat Electrics???
« on: 12 July 2009, 00:04:06 »

Hi, we've just bought an Omega 2.2gls saloon '01, at the moment the drivers seat doesn't move up or down, when you press the button it just knocks once and thats it.

Also, when we bought it, we've got two key fobs, one works and the other doesnt, is it a case of a new battery or is it more expensive than that? They key fob is the one with 3 buttons, two to open and shut and one for the boot.

Any advice greatly appreciated  :)

Check the seat rail runners for coins etc .. especially down the little gap beside the seatbelt stalk. Anything gets caught in there the seat jams and the motor stops,

Key Fobs ... several posts around but Martin Imber, a member here is the man .. he'll repair ifbroken .. but I'd try changing the battery first, then resynching (key in ignition, press lock, unlock) first .. :)

If you check under the seat you should find a threaded rod. you can attach a spanner to this and wind the seat manually, turn it a few times to free it up. slap a thin smear of grease on it to keep it running smooth.

If you find any money in the seat runners you can use it to pay for the new new battery  :y
