mustard in my bottle

could anyone help me just got my car from local auction a couple of wks ago drives well but when i checked my water
bottle it  was full of sludge which looks like mustard. can anyone tell me whats causing it and how best to deal with it. i have already removed bottle and flushed it out but its back!!. please help as ive got  a long trip coming up.

Are you losing coolant? Check the dipstick for mayo. Could be oil cooler :-/

Sounds like the oil cooler has gone to me. I wouldn't use it until it has been replaced.

is it a big job to change the oil cooler or is it something that can be achived at home?

Easy enough at home if your competent with the spanners, the cooling system can take some time to clear of oil.
