Paperclip test code 13 O2 sensor (Lamda)?
« on: 13 July 2009, 11:22:26 »

I have noticed the EMl on very occasionally. Flashed the code out and it is  "13   O2 Sensor 1 Open Circuit" It isn't running any worse than it has for the last two years i.e. like a dog.

So what might it be please?

PS I had rather hoped that it was going to be 19 crank sensor. I have got so used to it running and sounding like a real tractor (not a diesel Omega) that it will be a relief to find something causing it.

Anyone?

I have just had a good look under the car at the wires that go into the sensors on the down pipes of the cats. They look OK for an eleven year old car. Still clipped in to the loom.

Am I looking at the right part of the wiring or might it be a problem intermittent with one of the sensors in the exhaust pipe?

The wiring to the sensor on drivers side downpipe secure?  The exhaust hasn't started to blow anywhere?

Well thats the thing. The cats have taken a four year pounding on our country tracks  etc (dirt tracks with rocks) and are noisy and the joints cat to exhaust system are blowing slightly. One (drivers side ) has the ceramics loose as confirmed by that very nice Mr Omegatoy).

maybe I need to get a known good 2.5 pair off the forum shipped over here and try to be more careful in future.
