Replacement keys
« on: 14 July 2009, 01:13:36 »

replacement keys. Bough a beauty facelift from Dax & Pete both of the keys are WELL worn ( not blaming Daz or Pete for the record ) ( the second key will lock all the doors and start the engine , as does key 1 ) you press any key digit the red light shows up on the fob as working but open the car doors or boot so I am hoping that is just to rest (( key 2 this is )) I relaced and put in a charge battery  a battery in the second key ( worse  than the  that does just about work, so I hope it just needs re setting to the car ? I know that both keys will do this but I loose the central locking feature as will the key thats works

So my main question is. I would like to get at least one 100% working key, can I buy one from here / fleabay, and change the small chip in to the new one or is this a dreaded VX Dealer job ? If Yes to the second question any idea of a rough cost

Many thanks
