opps it, new stat on order. I reckon the old one has seized with the car being stood for so long and it's only just barely co-operating now with all the test runs I've been doing.

this is what i would do
1 take viscous fan off(you got to take it off to change stat anyway because its got a/c)
2. from cold start up car, gentley holding the pipe that comes from stat housing. stat should open at about 80, so if pipe gets  suddenly hot at about 80 then stat ok.
3 go in car put heating on hot, if ho
t not the water pump

4 would start to think its the rad fan switch which is on the passenger side of the rad. there is two switchs dont know  which one of the two it is. when i found out which one it is ,when car started to get hot, bridge the wires and see if that cools the car down. if that didnt work then blockage or rad

Got the full kit on order through CAS for 11 Quid.

So fan switch, would one of them be the one that sits below the fat heater hose? The one with the recirculation pipe back to the coolant reservoir?

Water pump changed back in Feb this year and I can feel hot air through the vents so the water must be circulating a little for it too do that.

Ok so the thermostat is now changed. After flushing the system I replenished the coolant with a 50/50 mix. Idled her for about 20 mins where the temp reached approx 90'c. Took her for a spin where the temp reached approx 95'c but no more.

Now as soon as I got back home I popped the bonnet and ran my hand along the top of the radiator.

From left to right up until half way it was nice and toasty but then it became really cold.

I take it this means my radiator is blocked and it needs to be changed asap?
