The speedo error sounds about right as the tyre size is smaller than the OE tyre size. I had a senator which had the wrong profile tyres on (too small ie 55 instead of 65) and the speedo was 10 mph fast ( showed 70 when doing 60) your tyres are too narrow and with a lower aspect ratio as well try here
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to find out how much of an error you have.

hmmm... so it looks like that's another job to be added to the ever growing list that's gotta be done, cheers Salty  :)

Still need to know what pressure to run these at though as money is extremely tight the new tyres are gonna have to wait a wee while
